Gippsland Historian Linda Barraclough will be at the Glenmaggie Scottish Folk Festival with the inside stories on the clans.
It’s a great day out – this Sunday 9.00am-5.00pm, at the Glenmaggie Mechanics Institute.
The program includes The Victoria Police Pipe Band, Highland dancing, Scottish Country Dancing, the Ceremony of the Haggis, Scottish storytelling and folk music.

The Watoto Children’s Choir of Uganda will be performing in Leongatha at the Memorial Hall, in McCartin St. on Thursday 15th October at 7pm.
The choir consists of 18 boys and girls aged between 8-13, plus support team. These children are part of the Watoto community in Uganda, which aims to raise the next generation of Ugandan leaders, by discipling parentless children for Christ.
Be inspired by the colour, vibrancy, amazing harmonies and stories of hope that these children will share. It is a free concert, however there will be an opportunity to make a donation or purchase merchandise to support this ministry.
There's no need to book tickets, just turn up in plenty of time.

Life FM’s Sarah Possart reports on the launch of a new service for movie lovers at the Sale Cinema – which is one of only 12 cinemas in Australia to install a new open captions and audio described service.
School holidays are fast approaching and the Anglican Church in Gippsland is gearing up for the annual Cowwarr Camp at A'Beckett Park on Raymond Island.
It's open to all young people whether they are Christians (regardless of denomination) or non-Christians.
First camp is for 12-15 year olds and is running from Tuesday 30th June until Saturday 4th of July. Second camp is for 16-20 year olds and is running from Tuesday 7th of July until Saturday 11th of July.

Community groups will have demonstrations and displays, the Air Force Jazz Ensemble will be performing, and there will be a free sausage sizzle and kids activities, including a rock climbing wall, jumping castles and face painting. The Roulettes will be performing at 11am and the Port of Sale Boat Club will be travelling down the river with the Swing Bridge being opened from 11.30am-12pm. As the former worship leader at Hills Christian Centre, Australia, Geoff Bullock became a household name in Christian homes throughout Australasia. Songs like The Power of Your Love, The Heavens Shall Declare, Have Faith in God, are all firm favorites in our churches. He was the Worship Pastor for the Hillsong Church in Sydney until he left the church in 1995 due to a self-described emotional crisis, later diagnosed as bipolar disorder. His marriage subsequently broke down, and he withdrew from public engagements. He has since remarried, and begun touring his music again until 2007. His self-titled solo album was released in 2008.
Geoff Bullock will be in Leongatha this weekend to conduct a Grace and Worship seminar followed by a concert …I was interested to learn that Geoff used to be a cameraman for the ABC’s Play School!

For the past 12 years Mirboo North has held a festival, native to the Sicilian town of Solarino, called the St Paul's Festa, which encompasses a morning mass, a street parade, a dinner dance and much more. Deb caught up with Gina Carpinteri from the Mirboo North Multicultural Club to find out why it is that they do all this.

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service is appealing to existing donors in Gippsland who are due to give blood to donate now to maintain blood stocks for hospitals.
Giving blood only takes an hour with the actual donation taking just five to ten minutes and every donation is crucial, helping many people including those battling cancer and leukaemia, patients undergoing surgery and those needing help due to accidents and emergencies.
