Every month we talk with the Manager of the Gippsland Centre Against Sexual Assault. We do that because no matter how much we want to think that we don’t need to know about “that sort of thing” – the reality is that sexual assault is a huge problem in our local community. The fact that Gippsland has a very busy CASA is testament to that.
Being aware of issues such as this can be a protection mechanism or a warning. It’s not easy to talk about – especially our topic this morning. In this increasingly morally decaying society of ours we shouldn’t be surprised to hear that CASA’s are now hearing more about female perpetrators of sexual assault as Dr Margaret Uebergang explains.
